MONEY QUIETS MY NERVES GENTLEMAN
MONEY QUIETS MY NERVES (GENTLEMAN)
This digitally created multiple is adapted from a 1920s motivational poster with an impressive addition of gold and paper money. Parker-Holladay publishers created a fictional character Bill Jones who gave out advice to workers. Ads asked, have YOU met Bill Jones? Between 1923 and 1930 more than 300 posters were made for the English, Canadian and American firms who subscribed to them. The caption is from the great boxer Joe Louis who said, I don't like money, actually, but it quiets my nerves. It seems apt for these mean financial times. I did two different versions in support of equality of the sexes and that pay equity will soon be the norm. The design is available on my Artspan site (peterjketchum.com) in different print sizes, or on a wide variety of items in our Red Bubble shop. See www.redbubble.com/people/KetchumArt/shop.
