DUTCH PRIME
A 7X5 digitally created work in a signed multiple of ten, DUTCH PRIME is a simple statement of fact and not designed to give anyone bad, bad ideas about politicians. Prime Minister Johan de WItt and his brother were killed in 1672 by an angry mob, perhaps supporters of the House of Orange. Parts of de Witt were eaten. Prime meat, I guess. DUTCH PRIME is centered on a sculpture of de WItt with an historical coat of arms for the Netherlands superimposed. The background is an early blue, white, orange Dutch flag. Historically, the orange was gradually changed to red, perhaps because of the waning popularity of the House of Orange, or a new way to make orange paint enabled the making of a darker, almost red, color. The print is available in various sizes on Artspan and imprinted on stuff in our store.https://www.redbubble.com/people/KetchumArt/shop.
