NEVER MET A HORSE I DIDN\'T LIKE
Iâve been on horses, real and electronic. I love buggy rides and merry-go-rounds. Iâve been kicked by a horse more than once.Bitten, too. I know horse people. And I know many of those horse people love their horses and merely tolerate humans. Particularly human males.
Itâs been said equestrian skills teach young women to handle and train large, easily distracted, sometimes stubborn beasts who always seem to need food, drink, and proper grooming. Skills with horses, then, are transferable when dealing with the human male. Or children.
Of course, many guys are devoted to horses, too. In fact, theyâd prefer to horseback ride out to remote places far from town than hang around the lesser beings inhabiting it.
In riding a horse, Helen Thompson said, we borrow freedom. Sharon Ralls Lemon, author of The Ultimate Horse Book agrees. "The essential joy of being with horses," she wrote, "is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit and freedom.
