SMILE DAMMIT
This is a digitally created work using a mid 1900s picture of a woman reporter with flash camera, perhaps a Graflex Speed Graphic, preferred by press photographers. Makes one appreciate phone cameras. The slogan was on an ashtray in my unsainted mother's bathroom and, I believe, was originally the tagline in a New Yorker cartoon. The limited edition print is available in different sizes on Artspan www.peterjketchum.com, and on pins, masks, postcards, and stuff in our Red Bubble shop. Here's where to shop: redbubble.com/people/KetchumArt/shop. And smile, but only if you want to.
